Courtenay Tree Removal provides four core tree services across the Comox Valley, including removals, storm work, stump grinding and pruning. We plan every job with our ISA Certified Arborist to ensure safe cutting. Any branch within 3 m of a power line goes to BC Hydro or WorkSafeBC standards first.
Most calls start the same way. A tree is too close to something, or the last southeasterly changed your mind about it. What we do next depends on whether it is healthy, leaning, or already down.
Which service do you actually need?
If the tree is standing and you want it gone, that is a removal. If it came down in a blow, or it is hung up in another tree, it is under load and we plan it differently. If the tree is already down and you are left with the stump, we grind it. And if you want to keep the tree but not the branch over your roof, that is pruning.
Does one call cover more than one job?
Often, yes. A storm call turns into stump grinding once the trunk is down, and a standing removal usually gets a look at the trees left behind it. The same arborist assesses all of it on one visit, so you are not booking three appointments to sort out one afternoon's work. We price each line on its own, so you can take the removal now and leave the pruning for the winter if you would rather. And if the walk turns up something we did not come for — a leader over the driveway, a stem leaning at the fence — we will tell you about it and put a number beside it, whether or not you do anything about it this year.
